Assam Results 2021: Clause of mandatory special exam requirement for Govt. jobs after HSLC/ HSSLC withdrawal

Assam Results 2021 see a new update in the form of Clause 5 being withdrawn. With this, now, the HSLC and HSSLC certificates will be valid for all jobs in the state.

In a new development in the Assam Results 2021, the Assam Education Department has decided to withdraw Clause 5 from its rules. With the withdrawal of this Clause, the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) will be valid for all jobs in the state. This will also include the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).
“We are considering an equalizing exam for such students in future. Students from all boards who want to join such state government jobs can appear in the proposed exam,” the minister added.

According to Clause 5, students aspiring to become teachers or employees in the Education Department or any other state government department where recruitment is "substantially based on HSLC or HSSLC marks", they will have to appear for a special matric or higher secondary examination. And this would happen only after the COVID-19 situation improves.
The decision to cancel the Clause was made by the Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma. A meeting took place between the Chief Minister and All Assam Students' Union (AASU), All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) and the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chhatra Parishad (AJYCP). It was here that the decision was taken after many protests erupted in the state due to the evaluation criteria.

At the same meeting, a decision was also made about holding an alternate exam. This was done in order to make this year's students at par with the previous candidates who had appeared for the exams. The Chief Minister's Office, CMO's statement said, " After detailed discussion, a consensus was reached regarding the alternative evaluation method. As per the decision taken, clause 5 of the government notification issued regarding alternative evaluation formula on the basis of the expert committee report would be removed."

Thus, from now on, the certificates of class 10 and class 12 will be valid for all jobs, including TET.
